Jamey and Melissa met in early 2008 while living in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. They immediately connected over a passion for music and Penn State, having both attended for their undergraduate education (We Are… Penn State!). When they met, Melissa had recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Social Work and was working as a licensed clinical social worker. Jamey was actively creating paintings and throwing pots. After their first meeting, Jamey sent a one word text to Melissa reading “smitten” and the rest, as they say, is history. Best friends for a decade, they tied the knot on June 30, 2018.

Although Melissa hadn’t painted since probably middle school before meeting Jamey, she was always creating whether it was scrapbooking, collages, or doodling.

Jamey and Melissa relocated from the Philadelphia area to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado in August of 2019. They live in their mountain house with their two rescue dogs and two rescue cats - LoCo, Hoodoo, Siggi, and Sage.

Melissa is employed as an Assistant Director and Therapist at the University of Colorado Boulder and creates in her free time. Jamey works full-time fixing up their house and creating.
